Welcome to the horizon exercise bike review.
Of course, horizon is a well-recognized company for their treadmills and even elliptical. But, there are picking things up on the uprights and recumbent exercise bikes too.
They have some genuine bikes. Which one are we reviewing here? Horizon comfort R? Horizon GR3 indoor cycle? Horizon Elite R7 recumbent bike? Nope! None of these!
This is the review for Horizon Comfort U. Well, if you found your way here then I am sure you know very well that it is an upright bike. It is a fresh bike released earlier in the year 2019.
Does this bike have the features? Will it last long? Is it a noisy bike?
Don’t worry! We will answer all these questions here in the review. So, let’s get started with it then.
Product Descriptions
Horizon Comfort U is a mid-range priced upright bike. Usually, upright bikes are a bit uncomfortable to exercise on. But, this bike has a gel seat and offers an extra-wide seat for maximum comfort. And the step-through design makes it an easy access exercise bike.
They have put in a good construction for the bike. It holds a maximum user weight of 300 pounds. That is very handy for an upright bike. This bike is not that wide at all. As a result, it will take less space in your home.
Comfort U has a decent console. It offers pretty much everything you would find in any top exercise bikes. Besides, you can benefit from the 10 already set programs on the console.
It has a nice and wide display. The readings on the display are large and easy to read. You can track all of the cool metrics an exercise bike should have. Just keep an eye on the display. It shows all the metrics at once (multi-panel).
There are up to 16 levels of resistance. And you can actually see which level you are currently on. The resistance level is shown on the lower side of the display besides the calories burned reading.

Console
The Horizon Comfort U has a decent console. This bike offers 10 programs which are great for getting started. These programs are so handy in any indoor exercise bike.
The bike brings in the diverse program advantage. The 10 programs include game, weight loss, intervals, rolling, etc. In addition, you can also customize programs for a better outcome.
The resistance in this bike is actually adjusted from the console. But, you don’t need to adjust the resistance if you use any preset programs of the bike. So, adjust the resistance when using your customized programs.
The 5 inches display shows some important data. Think of any top-level exercise bike. Well, this bike is in no way short in this case. You can track speed, calories burned, time, distance, and all those data that makes an upright bike worth it. Also, the display shows the resistance level. In addition, it adjusts the resistance level too.
There are two ways to track heart rate on an exercise bike. Guess which type this bike offers? The Horizon Comfort U actually gives the freedom of using both. You can track your heart rate with the chest strap or use the pulse grip sensors. The heart rate is shown on the display as you pedal along.
Flywheel & Resistance
Generally, upright bikes offer a flywheel of average weight. This bike is no different in this case. It has a 15.4 pounds flywheel to offer a good range of resistance.
Now, I have to say that I like more weighty flywheels. For example, spin bikes tend to offer heavy flywheels which are great for getting smoother resistance. Take a look at our sole spin bike reviews (SB700).
Considering the price and the upright case, it is not a bad deal. This is an average flywheel weight. So, you can expect a decent intensity on those 16 levels of resistance.
Yes, the bike has up to 16 levels of resistance. The resistance is rather smooth. More importantly, they are easy to control. Control? Well yes, you can control the resistance level from the console. As a result, you choose the intensity to work with. So, it will never get too hard for you because you can simply turn the resistance level down.
Seat & Handlebars
Oh well, no need to expect anything better than a hard seat, right? I mean it is an upright bike after all. STOP RIGHT THERE, MISTER!
Yes, it is an upright bike. But, Horizon has given something that is out of the expectation. The seat is wider than many other upright bikes I had encountered. Also, it is a gel seat. So, that makes your sitting time a whole lot more comfortable. And that is not even the best part for me!
The best part about the seat is that it is adjustable. Not just adjustable, like really ADJUSTABLE! You can make your adjustments with ease and a lot quicker than many other exercise bikes. Moreover, the seat can be adjusted vertically and horizontally too. So, you can move the seat up and down or forward and backward.
The seat is not the only adjustable part on this bike. You can also adjust the handlebars. As a result, you can have more convenient and comfortable ride on the bike. Besides, the flat bar design of the handlebars make it even more easy to hold onto and get maximum stability.
Pedals
An upright, spin, or a recumbent exercise bike. It doesn’t matter! The pedals are to be large-sized! You need a wide surface to keep your feet in. In this way, you are gonna have the luxury of pedaling with ease.
I love the pedals on the Horizon Comfort U. They are wide enough to make pedaling a lot easier for you. You can pedal for a long time because of these large-sized pedals.
Furthermore, this bike has safety straps to keep your feet secure on the pedals. These straps make pedaling smoother and more comfortable for you. Especially when you want to exercise for long hours.
