Do you remember times in your life when you felt so motivated or so dedicated that there was a surge of energy in you and was definitely some of the best moments in your life? Well what you will also remember is that those were the times when you were engaged into something that deeply interested you. Most often than not, one may have realized that their energy levels have lowered so drastically if their daily routines become stagnant. And why is that?
We humans have to go through something called a period of suspension of stagnation, through many phases of our lives. In this suspension, one is expected to do and keep doing what they know to help them immerse themselves in that job or situation.
Now during this period one may have to follow a certain kind of routine that is different from routines that they have followed or the kind of lifestyle where there is no routine. The thing is, when we step into the world and set ourselves on a venture into the world trying to achieve something unknown, we have to work with people, different kinds of people…we may have never experienced what it is like to work with people and this takes a toll over us, as we do not want to work on someone else’s timeline, but to make things work in this world, we have to give into other timelines. This is what one may also see as the process of learning.
The stagnation
This stagnant period may feel pathetic and as human as one may be one may lose interest in this kind of a routine world. This is why we feel a lowering of energy levels. One may also experience a non-consistent energy that shrouds them while working in a routine that they have not created. But the key to learning is a persistent and a consistent source of energy that should come from within you.
But how does one find this consistency in energy while already drained out and exhausted to even think of a way?
Fret not as philosophical as this may sound, the energy is lying within you! It is in a dormant form, but within you; by all means. All you have to do is find a way to extract this dormant form of infinite energy within you. And today may be your lucky day because there is a way to extract energy from within yourself even in this chaotic century that we live in.
The key is the practice of Yoga
Yoga was an ancient practice devised by the yogis of India around 25000 years ago. This was devised for the reason of digging into the human psyche to reach a realm of infinite spiritual existence. To reach to a realm, that was beyond constructive elements such as behavior, intellect, understanding, personality and attachments.
The yogis devised a way to reach that realm of existence that was possible for humans to achieve. They believed that, by sharpening and increasing the capacities of the physical body and the mind, and then by aligning the two to work in a synchronized rhythm; one could attain enlightenment (or achieve a state of Nirvana as we know it).
Even today yoga is practiced in all its genuineness in India. The world has come to know about this practice but has not dwelled too deep into the original knowledge that formed yoga. But it still works, because yoga has had such positive effects of whoever has indulged in this practice. This is why thousands are starting on a journey to this holistic practice from all over the world. With each passing year there is an increase in the amount of people joining the world yoga association. Nowadays it’s easy to make yoga your career. A yoga teacher training in India provides certification to yoga teachers from all over the world (so that they can go out there and spread the good word with the community surrounding them). This is how yoga makes world a better place for mankind.
What causes this low energy level?
Our distress is caused by mental unrest, disinterest in the work we may be engaged in, poor physical health, the loads of junk that we fuel our bodies with, etc. all of these things work together and makes us feel emotions like regret, remorse, bad decision-making, dishonesty, neglect, irritation, a harmful ego growth, tension, stress and anxiety.
A bad routine comes with mental and physical illness; this causes a lack of interest and low energy levels.
Yoga works on creating a synergy within you that is nothing like a draining gym workout. After a yoga session one is more likely to feel rejuvenated and full of energy. It works on your flexibility, your affected areas, your health, happiness, mental stability and your energy levels.
How exactly does yoga work on our energy levels (intricate process)?
What yoga does is, it takes the body and the mind and trains them in separate ways. In a good yoga session you will experience asanas (or poses and postures) that work on the physicality of your being, making it more agile and more flexible to the surroundings and the way one handles their bodies.
Then it works on the mind, with the practice of meditation and mindfulness, one learns to firstly see and register their thoughts as they come, then understand their thoughts so that it becomes easy to organize them in their minds. Then meditation works on spending time with the thoughts so that you can exist peacefully in your mind with your thoughts and they don’t have the power to make you feel anxious anymore.
After working on these two aspects of your being, one slowly moves ahead, towards aligning these qualities by synchronization of the breath (as breath is the element that binds the two forces to make them work in a rhythm that is unique to oneself).
The practice of asanas and meditation automatically brings about a surge of new found energy within you; you will feel more and more capable of carrying out the suspension of reality with persistent and consistent energy. One must try yoga to know the positivity they were missing out on.
